Requirement of feed nutrition for sea cucumber larvae

Sea cucumber mainly feeds on unicellular algae, protozoa, bacteria, algae fragments, organic debris and humus in sediment, and also uses seaweed powder, sweet potato powder, fish meal, bran and sea mud rich in diatoms. With the growth of holothurians, the feeding habits of holothurians also change. Apostichopus japonicus has a stronger food selectivity for food after living in benthos, preferring to choose particles and sediments with high organic content. The more suitable food combinations are Sargassum thunbergii, yeast, sea mud and compound feed. Studies have confirmed that Stichopus japonicus has certain requirements for the nutritional components of feed. Zhu Wei and others made sea cucumber compound feed with algae powder, white fish meal and casein as main raw materials to feed sea cucumber with an average body weight of 0.90g. After 66 days' feeding experiment, the mass growth rate, ratio of dirty wall and body composition of experimental Stichopus japonicus were determined. Results show. The optimal protein and fat requirements of sea cucumber are 18.21% ~ 24.18% and 5%, respectively.
